TL;DR: Led the UX vision for Maxsight, a ground-up rebuild of Moody's compliance and risk platform. Transformed a rigid, single-use product into a flexible, scalable workflow platform. Enabled expansion into multiple risk domains, 100x performance improvements, and onboarded major enterprise customers including Amazon (AWS).
Maxsight is Moody's workflow platform for KYC compliance and third-party risk management. It enables organisations to onboard entities, run risk assessments, screen against sanctions, and make compliance decisions with a full audit trail. The platform was expanding beyond KYC into Supply Chain, Trade Credit, and Screening, but the existing product wasn't built for that.
The legacy UI was architected exclusively for single-application KYC workflows. Everything was rigidly nested under entity profile, making it impossible to scale to new use cases. Navigation couldn't accommodate multiple workflows per entity, information architecture created cognitive overload, and there was no focus on tasks or next actions. The product was organised around its own internal structure, not around what users were trying to do.
I benchmarked workflow platforms with similarly complex structures, then conducted a thorough evaluation including a service blueprint of the existing product - documenting issues across navigation, feedback, consistency, and efficiency. This surfaced core patterns and pain points for myself and the team to act on.
Usability testing via Lyssna and a structured client feedback program validated designs in real environments throughout the project.
I proposed a fundamental restructuring of the information architecture - moving from a rigid hierarchy to a network model where entities, assessments, risk models, and tasks each lived independently but were clearly linked. I introduced a modular content model for scalability and consistency.
Sketches, wireframes, and Figma prototypes were iterated extensively with stakeholders, PMs, and engineering leads.
Hi-fidelity Figma designs were paired with detailed interaction specs for engineering collaboration. I maintained a master set of design files covering the full platform, keeping them updated as scope evolved. I worked directly with front-end teams to review development and ensure design intent was preserved.
I also authored the UX Vision for AI in Maxsight, establishing principles for how AI and agent capabilities should be integrated into the platform.
🤖 I leveraged AI tools extensively to accelerate design communication during this project. Using Cursor and Figma's MCP, I built functional prototypes that demonstrated navigation patterns and interaction behaviours far more effectively than static mocks.
